Day 8: Consecrating to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

2 Corinthians 6:3-10
We cause no one to stumble in anything, in order that no fault may be found with our ministry;
on the contrary, in everything we commend ourselves as ministers of God,
through much endurance, in afflictions, hardships, constraints, beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, vigils, fasts;
by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, in a holy spirit, in unfeigned love, in truthful speech, in the power of God;
with weapons of righteousness at the right and at the left;
through glory and dishonor, insult and praise.
We are treated as deceivers and yet are truthful;
as unrecognized and yet acknowledged;
as dying and behold we live;
as chastised and yet not put to death;
as sorrowful yet always rejoicing;
as poor yet enriching many;
as having nothing and yet possessing all things.
REFLECTION: CONSECRATING TO THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS
The journey to consecrating your company to Christ involves a deep personal commitment and understanding of your relationship with God. It begins with recognizing your purpose: to live in communion with Him, where true happiness resides. Acknowledging your need for God’s mercy and grace sets the foundation for this transformation, as does the recommitment to your callings of holiness and mission. By nurturing essential virtues like a vibrant prayer life, Christlike love, and humility through fellowship, you prepare yourself to lead your company with faith and purpose. By prioritizing people and relationships over products and processes, we recognize that our integral success in the world of commerce is intrinsically linked to the well-being and development of those around us.
The symbol of Christ’s love is most powerfully represented in the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus developed especially in the 17th century with St. Margaret Mary Alocoque. She received a personal revelation from Jesus regarding His Sacred Heart.
Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus teaches us that we need to collaborate with God’s grace and merciful love. What I do or do not do matters. God is not indifferent to my response to his love.
When we contemplate the Sacred Heart, we are not just contemplating the love of God Incarnate in Jesus. We are contemplating a merciful heart on fire with love for humanity and each human being. The Person of Jesus Christ mysteriously unites the human and divine. As humans, we are called to participate in the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4).
The imagery of the Sacred Heart—symbolizing God’s active, transformative love, and the wounds of Christ—serves as a reminder of His deep care and commitment to each of us. Through this act of consecration, you not only align your company with Christ’s mission but also commit to living a life of faithful friendship with Him, embracing His love and guidance in all you do.
NOVENA PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ, I adore you with all my heart. Confiding in your deep, personal love for me, I make this novena in preparation for the consecration of my business to your glory and your service. I ask you to purify my heart and to make the consecration a sincere act of love and devotion that redounds to your glory, now and in the years to come. I humbly ask you to protect my business and all those who are or will be connected with it in any way: the leadership team, the employees, the clients, customers, and all who come into contact with it. Make this business a true source of consolation for you, a channel of your powerful and limitless love, and an instrument that serves to comfort, strengthen, and inspire many, especially those most in need of your mercy.
Trusting in your promise that anything that we ask of the Father in your name shall be granted, I humbly present to you today the following prayer requests:
