Day 6: A Disciple Who Loves Courageously

Romans 8:26-27
In the same way, the Spirit too comes to the aid of our weakness;
for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit itself intercedes with inexpressible groanings.
And the one who searches hearts knows what is the intention of the Spirit,
because it intercedes for the holy ones according to God’s will.
REFLECTION: A DISCIPLE WHO LOVES COURAGEOUSLY
A true disciple of Jesus Christ embraces the call to love courageously, exemplifying the essence of “agape” love, which goes beyond mere affection to embody selfless, generous action. Rooted in Christ’s own commandment at the Last Supper—”Love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34)—this kind of love motivates disciples to take risks for the sake of others, demonstrating compassion even in difficult situations.
Christ’s way of living and loving is the model and pattern for how a Christian must live in the world. This is powerfully shown by the parable of the Good Samaritan. In the story, the Samaritan demonstrates compassion and care for a wounded traveler that others overlook, redefining what it means to be a neighbor. For those in a business context, this means treating every employee as a neighbor, creating a caring culture of support and empathy. By actively addressing the needs of employees and fostering a caring workplace, business leaders can reflect Christ’s love in their organizations, ultimately cultivating an environment where everyone can thrive together.
Jesus took on our human nature; he became one of us in flesh and blood. Jesus transformed our material world with his divinity. Likewise, Christians are called to transform their material world, to sanctify the world around them through holy and devout lives, walking in the footsteps of Christ.
As a consecrated business owner, you and your company are called to be radically transformed by God’s love. As a consecrated business owner, your mission is to take something human, temporal, and worldly and transform it by God’s grace and your participation with His grace into a source of eternal reward and a force for good in the world.
NOVENA PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ, I adore you with all my heart. Confiding in your deep, personal love for me, I make this novena in preparation for the consecration of my business to your glory and your service. I ask you to purify my heart and to make the consecration a sincere act of love and devotion that redounds to your glory, now and in the years to come. I humbly ask you to protect my business and all those who are or will be connected with it in any way: the leadership team, the employees, the clients, customers, and all who come into contact with it. Make this business a true source of consolation for you, a channel of your powerful and limitless love, and an instrument that serves to comfort, strengthen, and inspire many, especially those most in need of your mercy.
Trusting in your promise that anything that we ask of the Father in your name shall be granted, I humbly present to you today the following prayer requests:
