In 2015, House-Autry Mills CEO Craig Hagood heard Polydeck CEO Peter Freissle talk about His Way At Work at the FCCI National Convention in Tucson and he immediately became interested. From there, Craig began a relationship with Boomer Brown, a 2016 His Way At Work Certified Coach. The two worked together to discover God’s unique plan for House-Autry. Boomer began training a House-Autry Engineer, David Lancaster, to become their in-house chaplain.
Later, the House-Autry vision team was established and the team worked through the company’s mission and values. The company already had a history of caring for its employees, but the vision team established new caring guidelines and is currently implementing their new employee-led Caring Team.
Some of the Caring Activities currently used by House-Autry Mills for their employees and families are Monthly All-Shift Luncheons (3 separate shifts), Fit Bit Challenge, Commitment Coin, Shift Prayer Times (1 per week per shift), Men’s & Women’s Bible Studies, supporting local non-profits, community activities, and more.
Recently, HWAW Executive Director Armando Del Bosque visited House-Autry Mills to meet with Craig & Dr. Boomer Brown to discuss how things are going and the future of House-Autry with His Way At Work.
His Way At Work expressed their appreciation for House-Autry’s interest in supporting the HWAW movement. Leveraging on His Way At Work’s experience is key to the company’s development. So important, Craig invited Boomer to join the House-Autry Executive team as their Director of Organizational Development. The company is also committed to becoming a regional leader for HWAW.
Eventually, HWAW would like to establish a His Way At Work Chapter in Raleigh, NC that would serve the Triangle (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill/Surrounding counties). House-Autry Mills will be the first company and invite other companies to join them.
During Armando’s visit, he was also able to attend the first shift’s Weekly Prayer Time led by the in-house chaplain and the weekly Men’s Bible Study. He was also able to tour the production facility with House-Autry’s Safety & Training Manager, Pat Agnew.
