Dr. Dondi Costin is the President of Charleston Southern University, a private Baptist university in South Carolina. His entire life’s journey can be summed up in one word: service. Though, that hardly does his journey justice. In his service to this country, Dr. Costin has received several accolades and advancements, including his tenure as the Chief of Chaplains from 2015-2018. He holds five masters degrees and two doctorates.
Now, his service is focused on the future—specifically, how his university can instill faith-driven decision-making skills in the next generation.
We were honored to have him join the show to share Charleston Southern’s experience with His Way At Work’s process and share incredible insight into how to lead with faith-based principles.

More about Dr. Dondi Costin
Dr. Dondi Costin is a former major general in the United States Air Force. He led the United States Air Force Chaplain Corps and served as Chief of Chaplains of the United States Air Force before becoming the President of Charleston Southern University in 2018.
Chaplain Costin is a native of Wilmington, North Carolina, and was commissioned a second lieutenant upon graduation from the United States Air Force Academy in 1986. He received his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas. He also holds Doctor of Ministry and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky, as well as a Master of Arts in counseling from Liberty University. His military education includes U.S. Air Force Academic Instructor School, Squadron Officer School, Air War College, and Master of Strategic Studies.
