Mr. Thompson is an accomplished CEO in the Forest Products Industry with forty years of experience in tactical and strategic planning, project management, budgeting, cost reduction, and domestic and international acquisition experience. He possesses significant global knowledge of the plywood and veneer business and performance management techniques in ESOP organizations. He has a strong track record in turning strategy and vision into action within multi-layered, geographically dispersed organizations. His experience includes a strong record of performance turnarounds.
Mr. Thompson has a B.S. in Forestry from the University of Minnesota and an M.B.A. from Purdue University. Prior to working for Columbia Forest Products, Mr. Thompson held various positions at Champion International and Weyerhaeuser Company.
